Thank you for your interest in our practice! Your insurance may provide coverage for many of our procedures. We accept all insurance plans.

While Dr. Back is not contracted directly with any insurance carrier, you will only be responsible for your standard in-network co-pay and deductible. This is because your procedure will be performed at a local in-network facility (for example, Virtua Health). All we need from you is your insurance information. Our Insurance Coordinator will handle the rest!

To begin the process, we’ll need you to schedule an office consultation with Dr. Back to determine the best treatment plan for you. At that time, our Insurance Coordinator will begin by verifying your eligibility and benefits with your insurance carrier. In most cases, we’ll have an answer for you within 1 week!

Insurance FAQs

Q: Is Dr. Back’s office an in-network provider with my insurance company?

A: Dr. Back is not contracted with your insurance plan, but that won’t affect your out-of-pocket costs. Because your procedure will be performed at an in-network hospital or facility, your insurance company will process the claim based on the facility's network status — meaning you'll be treated as an in-network patient.


Q: Are there any hidden fees?

A: No. You are only responsible for your standard deductible or co-pay, if applicable. There are no surprise bills or additional charges beyond what your plan normally requires.


Q: I called my insurance company, and they said I'd owe a lot of money if I seek my care with an out-of-network provider. Is that true?

A: That's a great question and a very common concern — we hear it often. The “out of network” rule does not apply if your procedure is performed at an in- network facility. Since Dr. Back will perform your procedure at an in-network hospital or facility, your insurance company will process the claim based on where the procedure happens, not who performs it. As a result, there is no financial difference for you compared to seeing an in-network surgeon.


Q: How long will it take your Insurance Coordinator to verify my insurance?

A: Our Insurance Coordinator will reach out to you as soon as the processing is complete. That is typically no longer than one week!
