Are your areolas excessively large? The areola is the pigmented circle of skin that the nipple is centered on. An average sized areola is about 1.5 inches (4 centimeters) in diameter – about the size of the cap on a 20 oz. Gatorade bottle. Larger areolas can look disproportionately dominant on the breast. An areola reduction procedure will create a more pleasing, balanced look.

Areola Reduction Procedure
An areola reduction can be, and often is, combined with other procedures (such as a breast lift or a breast reduction). An areola reduction can be performed as an in-office procedure and usually takes about one hour to complete. All incisions are hidden within the new areola.
Areola Reduction Recovery
Some swelling and bruising is expected and can last about a week. Pain is usually minimal. The scars are typically very hard to see or find. No changes in sensation are expected.
